Mounjaro vs. Ozempic: Study Reveals Which Diabetes Drug Leads in Weight Loss

In the world of diabetes medication, Mounjaro is making waves. A new study shows that overweight and obese adults using Mounjaro are shedding more pounds than those on Ozempic.

Both drugs are designed to control appetite by imitating GLP-1, a gut hormone, but Mounjaro has an edge with an additional hormone boost.

This groundbreaking research, although not yet peer-reviewed, aligns with clinical trials. It’s a big deal because it’s among the few studies directly comparing these drugs outside of diabetes treatment.

The results are eagerly awaited, especially as these medications become popular for weight loss.

The study was not funded by drug makers. Instead, Truveta, a data analytics firm collaborating with 30 US healthcare systems, took the initiative. They analyzed anonymous patient records to understand these drugs better.
